Meet Sumalatha Srinivas: 9 Years in the Classroom Before Founding Vaidehi Little Blossom
Before founding Vaidehi Little Blossom, Sumalatha Srinivas spent 9+ years teaching Pre-Nursery through 9th standard. Here's her story and why she started a school in Koramangala.

Every school has a founding story. Ours starts with one teacher and nine years in classrooms across Bengaluru.
Sumalatha Srinivas now Founder and President of Vaidehi Little Blossom spent over nine years teaching everything from Pre-Nursery to 9th standard before starting this school. She trained in a convent-school environment and holds a B.A., which shows up in how she runs a classroom: warm, but genuinely structured.
Why language matters more than it sounds
Sumalatha is fluent in English, Kannada, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. In a neighbourhood as mixed as Koramangala, that's not a small detail it means she can speak directly with almost any child, and almost any parent, in whichever language puts them most at ease. A lot of a young child's early comfort at school comes down to simply being understood.
From classroom teacher to founder
After nearly a decade teaching in other people's classrooms, the decision to start Vaidehi Little Blossom came from a simple observation: the schools getting the best results for young children weren't necessarily the biggest ones they were the ones small enough that every teacher genuinely knew every child by name.
That idea became the school's second core pillar: Small By Design. Batch sizes are kept deliberately small, not as a marketing line, but because it's the only way the personal attention actually holds up in practice.
What she's building now
Vaidehi Little Blossom is built around three ideas Sumalatha has carried from her years in the classroom: Learning Through Play, Small By Design, and Reading By Six a steady, structured path so every child leaves genuinely reading, communicating, and confident.
